Commento: Das Hotel überzeugt durch den feststehenden Standard, den diese Kette ausmacht: nicht zu kleine, saubere Zimmer, höfliches, hilfsbereites Personal, hohes Serviceniveau (gutes Frühstücksbuffet, allerdings schlechter, amerikanischer (?) Kaffee, sogar Badewanne, kostenlose Internet-Nutzung und es gab wohl auch einen Fitnessraum). Die Lage ist sehr gut - in max. 15 Minuten erreicht man die Hauptsehenswürdigkeiten. Die angrenzende Straße war zwar laut, die Fenster aber gut, so dass wir ausgezeichnet geschlafen haben. Restaurant-Tipp: Trattoria Il Mare in der Via San Michele 7: Unprätentiöses, familiäres Fischlokal (Fisch am Eingang selbst aussuchen!), Super Antipasti, guter Wein.

Commento: 4 notti di soggiorno con marito e figlio di 8 anni. ottimo albergo, che offre molti servizi ad un prezzo competitivo. stanza a tre letti con bagno enorme pulitissima/o e con personale professionale ma molto gentile e cordiale. consiglio di affittare con un piccolo sovraprezzo il garage al chiuso. a15 minuti a pidi dal centro e a 5 dalla via centrale Etnea. ottima colazione con tantissima scelta, ottimi i vari tipi di brioche (5 possibilita' di scelta ) e torte. se torneremo a Catania soggiorneremo sicuramente in questo Hotel a cu si potrebeb dare una mezza stella in piu' .

Commento: We booked the hotel by the BW website and got a great rate of 79 euros a night. We arrived perfectly from the airport and stayed 4 nights.
Rooms: the room for three was spacious, comfortable with a great large bathroom. There was a king sized bed and a sofa-bed which was very comfortable also.
Breakfast: Very complete serving. The man in charge prepared us capuccinos every morning. There were all kind of pastries, fruits, cereals, breads, everything you'd need to great a good meal.
Location: the hotel is 6 blocks from the centre, very quite neighborhood and seemed safe. We walk to the centre even in the evening and the place offered no strange things.
Parking: it has a garage with room for 8 cars, one of the key things in choosing this hotel.
Service: was excellent from day one. The hotel staff offered all the help needed to solve a problem with our international calls, very friendly every time we asked anything.

Commento: We realy loved this hotel.We have stayed 4 nights at this hotel. We booked this hotel in Catania as we was planning to have a day out on our own to Siracusa/Ortigia, Taormina, and Acireale/Aci Castello/Aci Castello.
As others said here by European standards this hotel was way above it's rating. The bedrooms were nice and spacious and balcony doors were with double glased not a single noise, the common area's were clean and nice decorated. The breakfast was great.We had also daily fresh eggs to boil. They had free internet access and free wifi in rooms too. The staff English was fine and they were very helpful in their directions
to us.Not a single complain we can make on this hotel.
We booked this hotel for a great price of 217 euros for 4 nights for the two of us, thanks to www.travelrepublic.co.uk.
The only thing that one may can say is that hotel is a bit away,,,,but bus stop to Central Station is very near hotel and bus tickets are only one euro....for 90 minutes.
Still if one will like to walk from hotel to Via Etnea, Bellini Garden Area and Open Market was only appx 15 minute.
Yes if i ever go to Catania i will stay in this hotel again.

Commento: Catania ist nicht die schönste Ecke Siziliens. Viele Gäste (wie wir) buchen nur eine Übernachtung in diesem Hotel, um danach weiterzureisen.
Außer der Lage des Hotels stimmt fast alles: die Zimmer sind groß und in sehr gutem Zustand, das Personal ist freundlich und hilfsbereit, das Frühstück ist OK. In Summe: empfehlenswert.

Commento: ALbergo di ottima qualità. A soli 500 mt dalla centralissima via Etnea è facilmente raggiungibile anche con i mezzi pubblici che passano a pochi metri dall'albergo. Stanze ampia e grande bagno. Servizi di accesso a Internet. Buona la colazione offerta di tipo internazionale. Nessuna nota negativa. CONSIGLIATO

Commento: The BW Mediterraneo was a very nice hotel for the price. It was perfect for us who needed to stay there just one night before departing Sicily and getting in a day of sightseeing. If you want to park in their garage however you need to call ahead, but for a small price I parked on the street and bought a ticket to park for a half day and it was free at night. The breakfast was great and the staff was very friendly and helped us with much information.
There's one problem with Catania however. There are hardly any street signs, so if you don't have a GPS it's really difficult to find the property. I believe the hotel knows this and posted many signs leading you right to the front door of the hotel.

Commento: This business-style hotel is only 10 minutes from the action but far enough away to ensure a sound night's sleep. Rooms were clean and comfortable, staff were unbelievably friendly and helpful and breakfast even included fresh wholemeal bread as well as cereal, cake, fruit etc. Wi fi is free. Just one thing... we were told to go to the main bus station for Mt Etna but the bus does stop not far from the hotel.

Commento: Siamo rimasti soddisfatti dell'Hotel Mediterraneo. Stanze spaziose e funzionali (unico neo nella nostra stanza, puramente estetico; bruttissima e inutile la tendina circolare messa sopra la porta di ingresso del bagno... a cosa sarà servita.. mah..), bagno grande, aria condizionata, zona tranquilla. Vicino al centro, raggiungibile comodamente a piedi; la zona in cui si trova è un po' isolata e bruttina, ma con una passeggiata di 10 minuti si è nella centralissima via Etnea!
Ottima la colazione, comodo il garage di fronte all'hotel.
Lo consiglio!

Commento: E' la seconda volta che soggiorniamo in questo albergo. Ci siamo tornati proprio a seguito della positiva esperienza avuta la prima volta. L'albergo è in posizione abbastanza centrale; è pulito ed ordinato; la stanza è ampia così come il bagno; il buffet per la colazione è ben fornito; e per chi viaggia con bambini piccoli è l'ideale (abbiamo usufruito di un comodo lettino (non il solito lettinio da campeggio scomodissimo!) e dello scaldabiberon. Ci torneremo.

Commento: Un classico business hotel. Le camere hanno una giusta dimensione, sono confortevoli e curate in ogni dettaglio, però non sono recentissime; la nostra sistemazione aveva anche un balcone. Il servizio del personale è ottimo e puntuale. La colazione è abbondante ma solo discreta nella qualità, un pò sotto le aspettative data la categoria dell'hotel. La posizione è ottima: è situato a 5 minuti a piedi da via etnea. A pagamento sono disponibili i garage.

Commento: Das Hotel liegt in der Nähe des Zentrums von Catania. Die Reception gibt sehr gerne Auskunft. Die Zimmer sind ein bisschen speziell (sehr viel blau) eingerichtet, aber sauber. Klimaanlage, AC und Balkon war bei uns vorhanden. Sehr gutes Preis/Leistung-Verhältnis. Hotelpersonal hat uns nur einen Weg zum Stadtzentrum empfohlen, v.a. in der Nacht. Man fühlt sich aber trotzdem sicher.

Commento: Hotel Mediterraneo was a great hotel for our situation. We only stayed in Catania as we wanted to tour Mt. Etna and since we had an early morning flight. Our Mt. Etna tour got cancelled due to inclement weather so we spent more time that we planned at the hotel. They provided great suggestions for lunch and dinner locations, however we felt uneasy walking around Catania. The desk also set up a cab and wake up call for us. We also utilized the hotel's fitness room which was well equipped. We went with Hotel Mediterraneo after reading guide book and Trip Advisor reviews. The credit card machine was not working when we checked out so we had to pay cash. Luckily our excursion was cancelled and we had adequate cash on hand. Overall we were satisfied.

Commento: We stayed in this hotel in early July 2010 for three nights. Finding the location was a bit of a challenge as we travelled by a rental car (driving in Sicily is adventurous by itself). A parking garrage across the street is offered for a charge but there was no problem finding a spot on the street in front of the hotel. Room was of on adequate size,clean and very well equipped. We really enjoyed the electric sunblind. Breakfast offered a wide choice of food and drinks. However some improvements could be made. We missed some sort of sausages for example. Our only remark is about the location. The surrounding streets are shabby and walking back to the hotel in the middle of the night might make someone fear for their safety. But all that are minor drawbacks. We definitely recommend this hotel and would stay there again.

Commento: When visiting Catania, the good idea to choose hotel Mediterraneo. Why? The hotel is really (and surprisingly) quiet (do not judge just from the first look), situated in the street without overcrowded traffic nearby. The hotel is at a walking distance from the centre (Via Etnea).
It is also true what was already pointed out by other visitors: helpful staff (when we decide with my wife to visit the city of Taormina, the reception clerk provided us with the detailed information where to find a bus and time schedule of Departures/Arrivals, etc.), comfortable rooms, really good breakfast of the buffet style...
So thanks to the Hotel and its staff we enjoyed our visit of Catania.

Commento: I've spent 4 wonderful days in Catania in this charming hotel with my girlfriend. We booked through their website with a hot deal (69 eur/night for 2 persons, with breakfast), and also opted for an airport pickup (25 euro - the driver waited us at the airport and drove us right to the hotel with a nice and new, and airconditioned car). The hotel itself is 10 minutes walk from the city centre. It's in a middle of a residental neighbourhood. Though the area is not so nice (but hey, this is Sicily), we felt safe even at night.
The staff is very helpful, gave us tips how to reach things, how to use public transportation, etc.
The room was nice and comfortable, spotless, the best thing was the huge bathroom (with bathtube). Of course there's aircondition, too.
The breakfast also good, a lot of options (no sausages, or scrambled eggs - this might be a minus for fellows from Western Europe).
There's wifi at the hotel, for free! You just ask the front desk to give you a code which is valid for 24 hours.
Overall, it was a nice stay!

Commento: Anche a nome di mio marito desidero esprimere i miei complimenti per la
gestione dell'hotel. Di tutti quelli in cui ho pernottato nel mio tour
della Sicilia è sicuramente il migliore. Gli addetti alla reception con
cui ho trattato uniscono la professionalità a modi cordiali che ti
fanno sentire a casa. Le camere sono confortevoli e pulite. La prima
colazione è abbondante, con prodotti di qualità (come il succo di
frutta) e soprattutto mi è piaciuto il tocco di cucina locale con il

Commento: Geo Etna Explorer, giornalmente effettua escursioni sull'Etna per i clienti dell'Hotel Mediterraneo. Gli ospiti, ci parlano sempre molto bene dell'Hotel Mediterraneo. Stanze curate. Reception Hall in standard europei. Personale qualificato, professionale ed anche molto gentile. Ambiente raffinato. I servizio garages è apprezzatissimo dagli ospiti. Gli ospiti ci dicono di apprezzare tantissimo le utilissime notizie che i dipendenti della Reception forniscono loro. Ottimo livello. Gli ospiti ci dicono sempre che raccomanderannol'Hotel Mediterraneo ad amici e colleghi di lavoro. Ideale per turismo e per viaggi d'affari.

Commento: ambiente accogliente e molto professionale. Nello stesso tempo,ci si sente "in famiglia".Ottime le stanze per pulizia arredi e dimensioni. Situtato in zona centrale, pertanto, eccellente lì dove si volesse visitare il centro città senza la necessità di usare l'auto o imezzi pubblici. Buono il servizio e la varietà della prima colazione. Unica pecca: L'assenza, all'interno dello stesso, di un piccolo ristorante, o comunque, di "piatti caldi".

Commento: Personale gentilissimo e molto cortese; hotel pulito e ottimo servizio. Il lido La Graziella-Le Palme con il quale lavora l´hotel ci ha dato anche un´ottima impressione, anche li il servizio è stato ottimo; ci hanno addirittura portati in aeroporto.
Hotel sauber, sehr guter Service und das Personal ist wirklich sehr freundlich und höflich.Das Strandbad Lido Graziella-Le Palme, mit dem das Hotel zusammenarbeitet,war ebenfalls erstklassig; man hat uns sogar zum Flughafen gebracht, auch hier super Service.
Zu empfehlen!

Commento: This was the third hotel in which we stayed in Catania and the staff were vastly superior in their helpfulness, friendliness, English-speaking skills. The hotel is about a 15-minute walk from the nearest tourist sites--there are no restaurants nearby but it is in a safe residential neighborhood of apartment buildings. The rooms were not large but they were more than adequate with a nice bath and were very clean. This would be ideal if you had a car or were on business.
